daring bakers: chocolate eclairs
To my darling Daring Bakers: I had planned to make the challenge this weekend, but was thwarted by a traitor within our own ranks: my appendix! I am typing from my hospital room right now – they said they’d have to keep me here for a few days. My apologies to our wonderful hosts Meeta and Tony because they are not only two of my favorite bloggers, but Meeta picked a recipe I really wanted to make. Please see what the rest of the lovely (and handsome) Daring Bakers made by visiting their blogroll. And as always, pay homage to the great ones, our founders: Lis and Ivonne. Besos, Bisous, xxoo.

Yikes! This is just not fair Jen. I thought of you while I was out enjoying the great outdoors in Moab, last week too; wondering if you had some new Colorado altitude shots at the photoblog. All my best to you my dear.

Oh Lordy, girl! That’s the last thing you need! Please recover quickly. (Dog kisses are known to promote quick healing — the hospital should let your puppy in!)
August 31st, 2008 at 2:02 am
Oh!!! I hope you’ll recover fast!
All the best,
Rosa

I”m so sorry! I just had my appendix out in July and it is the worst. They act like it’s no big deal, but hello! They are still cutting you open – that ALWAYS a big deal. I feel your pain. I wish you a speedy and peaceful recovery.
PS – the one good thing about it was that I spent a week on the couch surfing the internet and that’s when I found your blog. :)
August 31st, 2008 at 5:23 am
Best wishes continue from Texas, Jen. Mend well, mend fast and don’t rush things. Give your body extra TLC. We be anxiously awaiting your return to the scene of all things wonderful. XO :)

I hate when the rank and file revolt, instead of rank and filing!
I hope you get well quickly and as pain free as possible!
August 31st, 2008 at 6:05 am
wow your appendix. I’m glad I’ve had it removed years and years ago. at least, now you’re done with it.

Speedy recovery to you my dear! I’ve forgotten to post up my challenge! I’m gonna do so by today. You take care. Jia you!
September 1st, 2008 at 10:34 pm
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon! Here is the only practical advice I cab give you (not that you want it, but I’m a mom, so mothering is what I do) – try to stand up as straight as you can while healing, try not to laugh a lot (because it hurts like crazy) and take it easy on yourself (no lifting). They are pretty trite things to do, but once you apply them they can really help. I really, really hope you feel so much better soon!
September 1st, 2008 at 10:35 pm
“Can” not “cab” sorry! Typing one handed in the dark and apparently not that good at it!
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:20 am
Stupid appendices – what are they good for anyway? Hope you’re feeling much better soon and get lots of rest. Looking forward to your eclairs :D
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:29 am
being a doctor I was able to avoid the surgeon for my appendix twice…
but they’re still waiting for me.
I’m sure you’ll recover fast
September 2nd, 2008 at 9:03 am
Glad you are in recovery mode. I mean, I kind of can’t imagine lady deathstrike not finding a way to bake eclairs in her hospital room, but if you want to wimp out on this one, I guess we can give you a pass. :)
Get better quick girlfriend. I’m sure ‘weah can’t wait to get you home, not to mention J!
September 2nd, 2008 at 11:02 am

September 2nd, 2008 at 7:56 pm

Not to put any pressure on you or anything but…
IT HAS BEEN 5 DAYS!!!
Could you maybe send up a flare so we know you’re still fighting the good fight.
Really and truly, do not let my comment add any stress.
Know that you are missed. I promise I will not get my nose out of joint if you were to tell us that you are in the pink of health and have been off frolicking through the wildflowers with your man, your pup, and your camera.
It would be wonderful, welcome news to hear.
there are volumes that I am not saying.
Stay Strong.
God bless you and heal you, Jennifer.
Oh, and I miss you.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
