I’m finally home and it feels great! Despite staying in fancy hotels with a bed all to myself full of comfy down pillows and fluffy comforters, I am so happy to be home. I even missed the tumbleweeds of Kaweah-hair drifting along the hardwood floors. I got to spend a few more hours of quality time with Grandma and Elena this morning before my shuttle picked me up.

I’m in a cushy bougie hotel tonight sharing a room with my aunt (courtesy of said aunt). I took the train early this morning from SF to San Jose where my aunt and grandma picked me up. In step with the conference activity level, we went straight to the library to help teach grandma how to use the internet and the library computer facilities. Then to a cafe for their caffeine fixes, then to dim sum, then chinese grocery shopping.

Being relatively new to the Boulder restaurant scene, I had polled my coworkers about good places to eat in town. Nicole immediately piped up and said, “I love Jax!” If someone else had said that, I might be take that recommendation with a grain of doubt, but not with Nicole – she is that rare being who says what she means, knows what she likes and dislikes, and doesn’t waste time in between. Righto then!
