This isn’t the moment that defines us, it’s what we do with it. Will we all be able to come together & still be working at it next year at this time? Only time will tell.
bit bleary-eyed as i’ve been up all night watching the results trickle in… i am not american either, but you have to care about these things, don’t you? american politics affects most people more than their own local elections, so we should keep a close eye. completely welled up and emotional now, maybe i’m taking it a bit too far, but what a day – good luck to president obama! the most difficult times are still to come, i guess!
An incredible evening in history. I am so proud of our country. Now more than ever we can be the country we are meant to be. Our long nightmare is over.
My congratulations to all that voted for Obama. This has been a journey of a lifetime. I look forward to our nations future and believe that the best is yet to come!
Yeah.. from the east-coast with all our blessings for our new president-elect! We will give our full support and prayer. For change and for better government!
Obamarama time! Love it. Been getting a little choked up off/on ever since last night – I think seeing Jesse Jackson with tears running down his face really did it to me.
I’m so proud of our country. A little ashamed of California and Prop 8 – but still overly proud of our country and just how far we’ve come. I don’t envy his job but I do believe that change is upon us.
Jen – I’m sure you get them all the time, but I couldn’t help myself and gave you an Excellent Blog award. If you care for it – come on over to my 11/5 post. :) If you don’t care to post it – just know I totally {heart} your blog!

I never thought I’d see it in my lifetime, and I just can’t take it in. So, so wonderful.
No surprise: I hang out with people like me. Historians. We’re all just flipping out. It’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced.

YEAH!! I was so happy I even liked McCain’s speech.
We’re super bummed about 8 though. People threw as much money and energy at it as they could. Damn that central valley.
Wonder what kind of puppy the Obama girls are getting?
