just passing through
we spent a few days shooting and hiking in zion
it’s still early spring, but the plants are starting to sprout
the rocks are as stunning as ever
and if you look in the right places, you’ll find lovely water
or maybe a lot of water

I just love this rock with the crack and the tiny plant leaves. Any idea if that was some kind of bird nest or something ?

A good friend of mine loves going to Zion, but I’ve never been. I look at these photos, though, and it feels like I’m there. The waterfall photo is stunning.

Gorgeous place!
We spend a weekend between Christmas & New Year’s there in 2006. It’s my youngest son’s FAV place…and I must say it was awesome, especially w/o the summer crowds.
Definitely want to do the Virgin River hike one of these days, but NOT in the winter! Late summer, early autumn would probably be perfect.

Beautiful photos! Hungry Bear and I are planning a road trip to Zion and Bryce at the end of April. This will be HB’s first time to either park and she’s excited to go!

The little plant is saying, “Aggh, five more minutes please…” (pulls covers over head)
And your brachioradialis muscle is saying Hello!! ;)

Zion is one of my all-time favorite places–only rivaled by Cedar Breaks nearby.

Wow! These are very different images from what we usually get to see on URB, snowcapped mountains and etc! Love the photo of the trinkling water.

Kirsa – no, the rock is part of an enormous rock wall with many pits in it that occur from erosion and water seeps. I’m sure a bird could nest there, but no sign of it.
Chuck – you guys will love it. Just know that starting April 1 through October there is a shuttle system enforced for the main canyon road (no cars allowed). It will be a ZOO. Email if you have questions about things to see or do in Zion. Kolob (the NW section that is remote from the rest) is AMAZING.
Japhy – awwww, I’m so glad I could bring a little bit of home to you :)
Kate – Utah was awesome. The geology alone makes it phenomenal. Thank you! :)
Katie – we were there Mar 20-22
Manggy – you’re such a geek!
