business trip
I’m in California right now for a work trip with my shooting partner and buddy, Jason. We flew out a couple of days early since Jason had never been to Yosemite National Park. I thought we should remedy that. We even ran into my friend and mentor, Michael Frye, at the Whoa Nellie Deli in Lee Vining after we figured we wouldn’t be able to meet up! I love it when that happens.
Jason and I spent just over 24 hours seeing many of Yosemite’s popular attractions before heading back north to shoot a wedding this weekend on a farm near wine country. We also made a quick detour to Reno – a pilgrimage, you might say. So here’s our trip (thus far) in photos, some on iphone and others with the D700. Hope you are all having a great weekend!

On my Bucket List.,for now the pics are satisfying my urge.Love the giant sequoia .Made the pumpkin cake .It did not rise properly so I only had 2 layers.I suspect it was the baking powder since I purchased it@ a health food store (no date). Thanks for sharing.

Hey Jennifer…I just finished today a workshop of the Eastern Sierras with Michael Frye. Staying one more day in Lee Vining and heading south to home. Isn’t that Whoa Nellie Deli the best! The fall colors were fantastic. You are just missing a storm heading to the area tonight. They’ll probably close Tioga Pass Road!
Love you blog!

What a lovely trip. Can’t you believe I’ve never been to Yosemite and I’ve lived in SF for 14 years, lol. Love your pics – the suckers series. :)

Hi Jen, I hope you had a safe trip back to CO. So, is that just a cheeseburger from In-N-Out. *tsk tsk* I would have thought y’all would both tackle a 4×4 animal style. <3
I love the Peace Out shots!

Kristin – ha ha!! :)
Kirsten – I have a feeling that your teens are pretty awesome kids!
Stephanie – it was really busy when we got there and with so much traffic I feared something (either us or my camera and tripod) would get squashed by a car ;)
J.R. – you’re so sweet.
John – LOL!!
Tina – sorry about the cake! :( If you are at sea-level make sure to use the baking powder amount listed for sea-level and not the one in parentheses which is for my altitude. xo
Erin – next time it’s your turn to hit CA with me!
Denise – isn’t Michael terrific? Hope you had a great workshop with him and learned heaps. Thanks for visiting!
Linda – you need to get out there, woman!
Shirley – it was a single animal style :)
megan – they’re up in the next posts!
Mrs Ergül – that’s probably the biggest bunch of them that you’ll see in one post ;)
