house smells good

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

I check the weather conditions first thing every day as I sit up in bed. I look out the big windows from our bedroom and squint enough to determine if it’s snow, clouds, sun, dark. This morning I got excited because the hillsides were white!

looks like snow

dirty dozen

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Jeremy was a doll and washed all of the new glassware for me last night. The new glassware is… well, what I had in mind were a dozen shot glasses. But after considering the logistical issues involved with shot glasses and getting food out of them (yeah – not for doing shots, sorry folks) I realized I wanted wider shot glasses. It also makes for easier cleaning. I like simple, clean lines. I found exactly what I was looking for in some votive cups at Pier 1 (where else?) for cheap. *happy*

It’s that whole individual servings kick that I’m on. Not to mention, I like playing with food in miniature.

I could have easily bought all 30, except the quality of the other 18 was suspect.

broccolini bride

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

Our wedding was a tad fancier than a courthouse nuptial. We were married in the judge’s house (which is also my advisor’s house – because they are married). I didn’t have flowers and I was actually adamant about that. But today I realized that if I could go back in time, I might have changed one thing…

i might have held a bouquet of beautiful broccolini

…and we could have dipped them in some nice herb vinaigrette after our vows and passed them around as snacks!
