dang!

It looks like Manisha and Kitt have beaten me to it. That is what happens when food bloggers get together and eat food. They shoot the food, shoot each other shooting the food, then post about: the food and shooting the food and shooting each other shooting the food. I’ve learned to become quite comfortable taking pictures of my meals in restaurants, but I must admit it was rather entertaining when all three of us did so after the plates arrived. My peripheral vision is quite good – we got plenty of stares from other patrons. I wanted to quip, “We’re not mentally unstable, we’re just food bloggers.”

the beth day

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

I spent most of yesterday in Boulder starting with an 8 am brekkie at the Walnut Cafe. I met up with Beth, the nice woman from the sushi bar the other day. My order was the Ranch Eggs. Now that I look at the picture and the online menu, I realize that I got drove – instead of bacon, my eggs had ham. Bummer.

After brekkie, we went shooting in Boulder. [Okay, so by now I hope you all know that when I refer to shooting, I mean with a camera and not Cheney-style.] I don’t often shoot in Boulder because I tend to prefer the wild places up where we live… which is why we live where we live. But there is plenty to photograph wherever I go and sometimes you just go, shoot, and see what you come up with.

overlap

Monday, October 13th, 2008

The local ski hill reported 3 inches of snow. I set off this morning to see what I could capture of the overlap of seasons. It is one of the highlights of living in the mountains when the first snowfall manages to sneak in before all of the aspens have turned bare. I was surprised to see as much color as I did… but the stripped aspen trunks are quite beautiful in their own right.

Anyway, I don’t have the time for a recipe tonight since I am swamped this week. So hopefully the pictures from this morning will tide you over until tomorrow. You can see a few more shots on the photo blog. NaBloWriMo is still going strong!
