Jeremy and I have been working on a variety of things today – on the computer, on the house, in the kitchen… all things that need to get done. We purchased a nice 24 foot ladder to reach those hard-to-reach places around the house. The new ladder is great and far sturdier than the one we have been using from Tom.

Sorry about the silence. It’s not because I don’t have things to write, just that I’m busy working on something that will probably take a few more days. Apologies if I’ve been neglecting email correspondences too.

Today, we spied something interesting:

skittles gum?

I thought it looked interesting, but I had assumed it was blocks of gum. I picked up the box and shook it. It rattled! We bought one for shits and giggles.

yes, skittles gum!

They taste just like the candy Skittles we love so much, but you can chew on it for longer. The flavor doesn’t last that long though (not surprisingly). Cute little box.

Dinner went very well considering that Beth double booked and arrived late. I didn’t mind her arriving late so much as I was a little surprised that she left her date with an empty seat for a few hours at a wedding reception while she drove his convertible up to our place to eat dinner with us. We were finally able to get Dave and Fran up to our place – which is nearly impossible because they are always traveling for work and play. Most of all though, I realized that I am going to miss Nicole and Andrew a lot when they move. It makes me sad. Well, all the more reason to visit Seattle!

Here’s the cross section of that strawberry everything cake I made for dinner last night:
