oatmeal without a spoon

Friday, July 8th, 2005

Let’s see here. I brought oatmeal for brekkie and I find that I’ve thoroughly emptied all of my crap from my desk so that I am eating my oatmeal with my fingers. At least my hands are clean…

It’s my last day at work – yay!
I’m feeling much better about leaving now because I got some news recently that sets my mind at ease. I had worried about leaving things in such a state as to make life very difficult for someone else here. However, that person has found an opportunity which frees them from these problems – and we are both very happy about that.

Our sellers are the coolest people ever. I wish every person could be so reasonable and have a sense of humor.

The packing and especially the cleaning has been freaking poor Kaweah out. When Jeremy shut off the vacuum last night she came out from her hiding spot and wagged at him. But then he had to resume vacuuming and she got sad again. Not much longer pup.

Like a good Chinese granddaughter and Chinese granddaughter’s husband, we set out at 4 am today to drive up and see Grandma for the weekend. Travel was fast, but there was still considerable traffic for such early hours. Californians are on the move now that school is out. Speaking of school being out… I stopped by Caltech graduation on Friday to hear Sandra Tsing Loh give the commencement address. I ran into Jack (my old house president) and the deja vu feeling was a little weird being back at my undergrad stomping grounds with a Caltech bud.

For some reason Friday was a crazy busy day.

too much sugar – implications for brain-deadness tomorrow are high

Despite getting a lot of things done today, I can’t remember what the hell I did. My memory is only good back to 7 pm, and that lower bound keeps moving up. Ah yes, we got a quote from the second moving company and it’s much better than the first! Plus, they insure our stuff for up to $60K which is amazing since everything we own in our house is in total worth about 20 bucks. yiha!
